Joined connectRN with a mission to lead the Design Systems initiative and define the design direction of product design. The goal was to elevate the craft of product design and development, shaping the expression of the brand within the product. My role involved overseeing all product design work across platforms, ensuring the optimal use of the design system, and providing mentorship on product design.
In collaboration with a front-end developer, we successfully designed and built a state-of-the-art React-based mobile-first design system. This initiative had a transformative impact on the clinician-facing consumer mobile app, enhancing its look, feel, and usability through design direction and direct integration of the design system. We also established a plan to extend the design system across the supervisor desktop platform and implement responsive frameworks.
The implemented design system significantly reduced the time of implementation from weeks to days. Moreover, it freed up product designers from the details of interface design, allowing them to focus on solving strategic user and business problems.
